PLEASE NOTE: Lindsay Kimm,  the organiser of Screening UK, was appointed as the NHS National Screening Coordinator in 2001 and is currently working on a state funded programme to implement UNHS in England. Otodynamics Ltd, the sponsor of Screening UK, welcomes this move and wishes Lindsay Kimm every success. The first 20 NHS pilot sites entered service in 2001-2002 and the next phase is in progress.

In view of the national UNHS programme ( see www.unhs.org.uk ) the work of Screening UK has been wound down. Enquiries can be addressed to Otodynamics' help service at  screeningUK@otodynamics.com   or to the NHS service through www.unhs.org.uk

We'd like to thank everyone who participated in the Screening UK initiative.

Welcome To Screening UK
Run By Lindsay Kimm

The aim of screening UK are to promote and support newborn hearing screening in the UK.  Screening UK receives financial assistance from Otodynamics Ltd.

There is plenty of evidence supporting new-born screening but very little is available relating to the nitty-gritty of how, when and where screening should take place and who should carry it out. Screening UK has been set up to meet this need. As part of this exciting movement I have taken up the role of Screening Consultant.

I will be delighted to give advice and information on both setting up and running new-born screening programmes, and offer support for existing programmes. If you need advice on funding, auditing, complying with quality control requirements or any other aspect of a UK hearing screening programme, Screening UK can help.

Screening UK is sponsored by Otodynamics Ltd., a Queen’s Award winner for Technology jointly with the Institute of Laryngology & Otology at University College London. Screening UK continues the work of the UK Consortium on Hearing Assessment with OAEs, operated for a number of years by ILO, University College London.
